Launching a business in the time of Covid.

I had the great privilege of supporting a young entrepreneur who courageously designed her new business during the onset of covid pandemic and subsequent quarantine. Equipped with a very clear vision of what she wanted to create, Natalie @yourstruly.natalie designed and built out her brow and beauty business through the spring and summer, opening in late August at Dundas St W and Bloor in Toronto.

As a consultant and business coach, I provided Natalie with the tools and important questions she needed to consider as she articulated her vision for the business. We worked through the exciting world of financials to determine how she would make a living in this business, create revenue and manage expenses. We clarified her value proposition and marketing plan and we determined the strategic priorities that would ensure she was building a sustainable business model. I could see how nerve wracking the experience was for her, and I was struck by her courage and perseverance to press forward. From securing space for her studio and signing the lease; to interior design, construction, policy, public health requirements, systems, banking, security, insurance, supplies, marketing and promotion, on and on; it was a continuous stream of stuff to do, seemingly all at once.

I knew Natalie would be successful, she has a magnificent presence, tremendous respect for others and creates a calm, safe space for those around her. This is her unique gift, her gentleness and warmth draws people in. She and her physical studio space are one, in being welcoming, warm, relaxing and calm.
